Dubai-born Rayhan Thomas, a 24-year-old golfing talent who recently turned professional, is set to compete in the First Stage of DP World Tour Qualifying School at Donnington Grove Golf Club, Newbury, England. The tournament runs from September 17th to 20th and offers 252 holes for only 20 tour cards. This is a crucial step in Rayhan’s professional journey as success here could lead to more opportunities on the DP World Tour.

Representing the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, Rayhan is determined to give his best shot at securing one of the coveted tour cards. He is also entered in the Korn Ferry Qualifying School and the Asian Tour Qualifying School, aiming to have multiple options moving forward. The advice he has received is to play in as many events as possible before having a full schedule, and the upcoming week in England presents a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills.

With players from 22 countries competing at the Donnington Grove event, Rayhan Thomas is the only Indian in the field. The success of the First Stage Qualifying events will determine the number of players progressing to the Second Stage Qualifying, which takes place at four venues in Spain. The Final Stage of Qualifying will consist of 156 players battling over six rounds in Spain, with the top 20 players and ties earning DP World Tour playing privileges for the 2025 season.

After the six rounds in Spain, players who make the cut but don’t finish in the Top 20 will still receive membership categories on both the DP World Tour and Challenge Tour. The Qualifying School has been a platform for emerging talents to make their mark in the professional golfing circuit since 1976, offering a pathway to secure tour cards and advance their careers. Rayhan Thomas is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead at the DP World Tour Qualifying School.

As the Qualifying School events progress, players will have the chance to showcase their skills, determination, and resilience to earn their spot on the DP World Tour. The intense competition and high stakes of the Qualifying School make it a crucial stepping stone for young talents like Rayhan Thomas to establish themselves in the professional golfing world. With the support of his management and mentors, Rayhan is focused on performing at his best and capitalizing on the opportunities ahead to fulfill his potential as a professional golfer.
