Dr. Yaser was also listed as practicing at Orthocure and Medcare Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital in Al Safa, with the latter clarifying that he was never employed by the group.
The Medcare Orthopedic and Spine Hospital released a statement stating that Dr. Yaser had never consulted any patients or performed surgeries at their facility. It was mentioned that he was an external consultant at Orthocure and partnered with them for the usage of surgical facilities. Khaleej Times is currently awaiting a comment from Orthocure regarding this matter. Dr. Yaser joined Orthocure just seven months ago and had been scheduled to speak at the 10th Annual MENA International Orthopaedic Congress, which is set to take place in Dubai, but his name has been removed from the speakers’ list.
A review is currently underway at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Dr. Yaser practiced from 2017 until late 2023, involving more than 700 cases of his patients. 39 cases have been examined so far, with 22 children experiencing varying degrees of harm. Allegations against Dr. Yaser were first raised in June 2022, leading to him being placed on a paid sabbatical leave for 11 months before resigning in September 2023. It remains unclear when he arrived in the UAE and if he has performed any surgeries there.
