The first integrated hospital specializing in gastroenterology has broken ground in Dubai, marking a major development in the healthcare sector. The new hospital, Asan-Emirates Digestive Diseases Hospital, is the first international branch of one of South Korea’s largest healthcare centers and is set to be completed by 2026. Spanning 21,150 square meters, the facility will consist of nine floors with 65 beds, four operating rooms, luxury and VIP rooms, as well as support facilities like rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, intensive care, and day care units.

The hospital will provide specialized treatment for digestive diseases such as obesity treatments, gastrointestinal oncology, liver transplant management, organ transplantation, endoscopy, and digestive health screenings. It will also serve as an educational center for local specialists to benefit from the expertise of the Korean medical team. The introduction of this facility will enhance Dubai’s capabilities in the fields of digestive health, gastrointestinal oncology, liver transplant management, and lifestyle-related diseases.

Dr. Soo Sang Park, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and Chief Financial Officer of Asan Hospital, emphasized that the hospital will offer minimally invasive and preventive procedures based on a multidisciplinary approach. The project is being spearheaded by Scope Investment, an Emirati company, and has received praise from Awad Sagheer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, who highlighted Dubai’s appeal as a destination for major international hospitals and healthcare centers due to its advancements in the health sector and investment climate.

Moon Byung-Jun, the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation between Scope Investment and Dubai Healthcare City Authority in establishing the first international branch of the hospital. The goal is to provide top-notch healthcare services to patients in the UAE, GCC countries, and beyond. With the groundbreaking of the Asan-Emirates Digestive Diseases Hospital, Dubai is set to become a hub for cutting-edge healthcare facilities and services, further solidifying its reputation as a global leader in the healthcare industry.
