Akshita Chhetri, a 20-year-old Dubai girl, recently won the second runner-up award at the Miss Universe Nepal 2024. She captivated the audience in Kathmandu at the beauty pageant’s eighth edition. Akshita, a former student of GEMS International School Al Khail, is currently pursuing her third year bachelor’s in Business Science in South Korea. She will be moving to the foundation campus in Fairfax, Virginia for her final year.

Raised by a single mother in Dubai, Akshita’s life has been shaped by resilience and determination instilled in her by her mother at a young age. Despite having no background in pageantry, Akshita decided to participate in Miss Universe Nepal 2024, surprising her family and friends with her unexpected announcement. She applied for the contest without knowing what to expect, showcasing her adventurous spirit.

During a trip to the USA in 2024, Akshita received an email inviting her to audition for Miss Universe Nepal 2024. She recalled the moment she was chosen for the Top 35 in Nepal as a turning point that she couldn’t afford to miss. Without any formal preparation, she soon found herself in Nepal for the prestigious sash ceremony, stepping onto the stage with confidence.

While competing in Miss Universe Nepal 2024, Akshita discovered her passion for choreography and walks, expressing her love for the art form. In addition to being a full-time student, she is a certified digital marketer, graphic designer, and Neurolinguistics Practitioner. She aspires to pursue a career in the creative industry and use her talents to express herself and advocate for important causes.

Akshita’s journey to the Miss Universe Nepal stage also involves advocacy for empowering underprivileged children. She has been dedicated to supporting and educating young children, using her dance platform to raise funds for children in a rural school in Nepal. Her belief in the dreams of the youth and the values of tolerance, inclusivity, and diversity learned in the UAE have shaped her perspective and influence her advocacy work.

Akshita’s commitment to supporting underprivileged children in Nepal reflects her desire to give back and make a positive impact on the community. She plans to continue extending her support to children in need and use her platform to shed light on important issues. Akshita’s journey to the Miss Universe Nepal stage showcases her determination, passion for advocacy, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others.
