Dubai Police have impounded around 180 vehicles in the past three months due to noise and disturbance in residential areas. The General Command of Dubai Police took this action because the drivers were causing inconvenience and disturbance to the security and calmness of the street, making dangerous movements and loud noises. Major General Saif Meher Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, revealed that a traffic campaign launched by Dubai Police over the July to September period led to the seizure of these vehicles. Additionally, 251 violations were issued to drivers who were indulging in activities for the purpose of showing off, with violations spotted in areas like Nad al-Shaba and Maidan Street.

Most of the offenders were tourists from Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as some UAE violators. The reckless drivers were engaging in disruptive behavior on the roads, often trying to film themselves to gain social media followers and more views. Dubai Police added that violators must pay Dh50,000 to release their impounded cars. Reckless driving and running a red light are serious traffic offenses in Dubai for which motorists will have to shell out Dh50,000 to get their confiscated vehicles back. Authorities have encouraged the public to report any road safety violations through the ‘Police Eye’ service in the Dubai Police app on smartphones or by contacting the ‘We Are All Police’ service at 901.

It is crucial for drivers to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to maintain road safety and prevent disturbances in residential areas. The impounding of vehicles in Dubai due to noise and reckless behavior serves as a reminder for all motorists to drive responsibly and consider the well-being of others on the road. With the rise of social media influence, some drivers may be tempted to engage in dangerous activities to gain followers and views, but this comes at the expense of road safety and can lead to severe consequences such as vehicle impoundment and hefty fines.

The enforcement of traffic campaigns by Dubai Police demonstrates their commitment to ensuring road safety and cracking down on reckless driving behaviors. By seizing vehicles and imposing fines on violators, authorities aim to deter such activities and promote a culture of responsible driving among motorists. Tourists and UAE residents alike must be aware of the consequences of violating traffic laws in Dubai, including the financial penalties and sanctions that come with it. Reporting road safety violations through dedicated services provided by Dubai Police allows the public to contribute to maintaining order on the roads and keeping the community safe.

Drivers in Dubai must prioritize safety and respect for others while on the road to avoid facing penalties such as vehicle impoundment. It is essential to stay informed about the latest traffic regulations and abide by them to prevent disruptions and ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Dubai Police’s efforts to crack down on reckless driving behaviors and noise disturbances reflect their dedication to creating a safe environment for all road users. By working together to uphold road safety standards and report violations promptly, residents and tourists can contribute to making Dubai’s roads safer and more secure for everyone.
