Parkin Company, the largest provider of paid public parking facilities and services in Dubai, has recently signed an agreement with Skyports Infrastructure, a company that develops and operates vertiport infrastructure for the advanced air mobility industry. The partnership aims to manage parking facilities at locations where air taxis will take off and land in Dubai. Parkin and Skyports will work together to provide parking facilities at applicable vertiport sites and explore opportunities to develop new air taxi infrastructure across Parkin’s network to support the expansion of air taxi services.

Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, expressed his excitement about the partnership, highlighting Parkin’s role in enabling mobility to support the expansion plans of Dubai. With a focus on multimodal transport technologies, the collaboration between Parkin and Skyports will enhance connectivity for residents and visitors across the city and support Dubai’s green mobility ambitions. The implementation of Skyports’ vertiport infrastructure represents a significant opportunity to expand Parkin’s platform capabilities.

Skyports Infrastructure’s CEO, Duncan Walker, emphasized the mutually beneficial nature of the partnership with Parkin, bringing together two companies with complementary assets and operations. With access to Parkin’s extensive footprint, Skyports aims to develop vertiport infrastructure throughout the city, accelerating the adoption of integrated, multimodal transport solutions. The joint commitment to developing sustainable technology solutions will enhance the passenger experience and drive the adoption of air taxi services.

In February 2024, Skyports Infrastructure signed an agreement with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and all-electric aircraft company Joby Aviation to launch passenger air taxi services in Dubai by 2026. This agreement granted Skyports exclusive rights to build and operate vertiports in Dubai, making it the first location with a commercial, city-wide electric air taxi service. The partnership supports Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy and Smart Autonomous Mobility Strategy 2030, focusing on developing a safe, efficient, and high-quality mobility ecosystem across the Emirate.

The exclusive 49-year agreement between the RTA and Parkin grants Parkin the exclusive rights to operate and manage paid public parking services across Dubai. This long-term partnership aligns with the shared goal of developing a sustainable mobility ecosystem in Dubai, supporting the objectives of the Green Mobility Strategy and Smart Autonomous Mobility Strategy 2030. The partnership represents a significant step towards creating a safe, efficient, and integrated transportation system in Dubai, ultimately enhancing the overall mobility experience for residents and visitors.

Overall, the collaboration between Parkin Company and Skyports Infrastructure signifies a significant advancement in the development of advanced air mobility infrastructure in Dubai. By leveraging each company’s expertise and resources, the partnership aims to enhance connectivity, support the adoption of air taxi services, and contribute to Dubai’s green mobility ambitions. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the joint efforts between Parkin and Skyports are poised to drive the evolution of transportation services in the city, ultimately shaping the future of urban mobility in Dubai.
