In this age of social media scrutiny, skincare has become of utmost importance to many individuals. The skincare industry is expected to generate billions in revenue globally, highlighting the significance of proper skincare routines. Nipun Kapur Sohal, a certified skincare consultant based in the UAE, sets herself apart from other influencers by debunking common skincare myths and emphasizing the importance of education in skincare. She believes that actives, such as alpha-hydroxy acids and beta-hydroxy acids, are essential for the skin, but their quality and quantity need to be carefully managed to avoid damaging the skin barrier.

Nipun’s passion for skincare originated from her mother’s dedicated beauty regimen, inspiring her to develop the C4 Method – cleanse, correct, complement, and cover. This method simplifies skincare routines by focusing on essential steps to achieve desired results. While she appreciates Korean skincare practices, she emphasizes the importance of tailoring skincare routines to individual needs based on geographical location, lifestyle, and diet. Nipun’s approach to skincare education resonates with her audience, as she prioritizes providing valuable information over endorsing products.

One of the most misunderstood skincare ingredients, according to Nipun, is collagen. While collagen is naturally produced by the body and essential for skin elasticity, topical collagen products cannot replace lost collagen effectively due to their molecular size. She also addresses the growing trend of injectables in skincare and advocates for a balanced approach to anti-ageing, whether through skincare products or medical interventions. Additionally, she highlights the importance of understanding the underlying causes of hair loss, such as Vitamin D deficiency and using sulfate-free shampoos to maintain healthy hair.

In a country like the UAE, where air-conditioned environments are prevalent, skincare concerns like dry and itchy skin are common. Nipun recommends investing in dehumidifiers and using products containing ceramides and peptides to combat dryness and protect the skin barrier. As a skincare consultant, Nipun’s goal is to empower individuals to make informed skincare choices and enhance their natural beauty. By educating her community on skincare principles and practices, she aims to serve as a servant leader in the beauty industry, promoting a holistic approach to skincare and self-care.
