The Dubai Harbour bridge project was announced to link the Dubai Harbour to a major highway, reducing travel time from 12 minutes to just three. The Dh431-million bridge will have two lanes in each direction and connect the residential seafront destination to the Sheikh Zayed Road. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded the contract to construct the 1.5-km bridge, which will have a capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, stated that the project aims to provide a direct entry/exit for Dubai Harbour to facilitate the movement of visitors and residents.

The bridge will extend from the 5th intersection on Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour Street, passing through the intersection of Al Naseem Street with Al Falak Street and crossing over the intersection of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street. The specific completion date of the project was not disclosed by the authority. Abdulla Binhabtoor, CEO of Shamal Holding, the curator of Dubai Harbour, mentioned that the project will offer free and direct access to the destination. Dubai Harbour is situated between Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah and is home to Skydive Dubai, featuring a 770-metre runway extending 550 metres into the Arabian Gulf.

The new Dubai Harbour bridge project is expected to significantly improve transportation efficiency in the area by reducing travel time and providing convenient access to the popular seafront destination. With two lanes in each direction and a capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour, the bridge will enhance connectivity between Dubai Harbour and the Sheikh Zayed Road, benefiting both residents and visitors. The project was awarded to the RTA, and it aims to streamline the movement of people in and out of Dubai Harbour, making it easier and faster for individuals to access the area.

The bridge will serve as a vital link between Dubai Harbour and the major highway, offering a direct entry/exit point for residents and visitors. The project’s construction is key to enhancing infrastructure in the region and supporting the growth of Dubai Harbour as a prominent seafront destination. With the completion of the bridge, individuals can expect a smoother and more efficient commute, saving time and improving overall accessibility to the area. The strategic location of Dubai Harbour between Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah makes it an ideal spot for development and expansion, and the new bridge will play a crucial role in connecting the area to key road networks.

The Dubai Harbour bridge project will play an essential role in further developing Dubai’s transportation infrastructure and enhancing connectivity between key destinations in the city. With a focus on improving access and reducing travel time, the bridge will offer a seamless connection between Dubai Harbour and the Sheikh Zayed Road, benefiting both residents and tourists. The project’s completion will mark a significant milestone in the enhancement of transportation facilities in the region and support the growth of Dubai Harbour as a premier seafront district. Overall, the Dubai Harbour bridge project is a crucial step towards improving transportation efficiency and accessibility in the area, catering to the needs of the growing population and enhancing the overall travel experience for individuals visiting Dubai Harbour.
