Dubai Basketball team continues its preparations for historical season with training camp in Slovenia – News

Dubai Basketball, the emirate’s first professional basketball franchise, is gearing up for an exciting season as they prepare to participate in the ABA League, becoming the first team from Dubai to play in a European league. The team recently traveled to Slovenia for a training camp led by head coach Jurica Golemac and his team, with the camp scheduled from August 19 to September 2. This training camp marks a significant milestone in the club’s history, allowing the first-team squad and two academy players to train and play together for the first time ahead of the upcoming season.

During their time in Slovenia, Dubai Basketball will play four matches against KK Dinamo, Buducnost, KK Split, and KRKA, providing valuable practice and experience for the team. Head coach Golemac expressed his optimism about the training camp, emphasizing the importance of the players bonding and coming together as a team through rigorous training sessions and challenging games. He believes that the experience gained during their time in Slovenia will be crucial for their preparation for the upcoming season.

After the training camp in Slovenia, the team will return to Dubai for a pre-season friendly at Coca-Cola Arena on September 10 before heading to Sarajevo, Bosnia, from September 14-16 to participate in the Mirza Delibašić tournament. In this tournament, Dubai Basketball will face Cluj from Romania and either Dinamo Sassari from Italy or KK Bosna from Sarajevo. The team’s ABA League campaign will kick off on September 22 against reigning champions Red Star at Coca-Cola Arena, promising an exciting start to their European basketball journey.

The training camp in Slovenia is seen as an excellent opportunity for Dubai Basketball to come together as a team and prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.
