Dubai Basketball suffered a close defeat against Serbia’s Mega MIS, ending their perfect start to the 2024-2025 ABA League season. The game attracted NBA stars such as Nikola Jokic and Vlatko Čančar, as well as other basketball dignitaries. The match was an intense affair that went down to the last second, where a controversial foul led to Mega MIS securing a victory with three free throws.

In the early stages of the game, Dubai Basketball had a strong start and took a lead. However, Mega MIS found their rhythm and closed the gap at halftime. The third quarter was closely contested, setting the stage for an exciting final quarter where both teams fought hard. The game was tied at 80-80 in the final minute before Mega MIS’s Kosta Kondić made a crucial 3-pointer to secure the win.

Isaiah Taylor was the top scorer for Dubai Basketball with 14 points, while Klemen Prepelic continued his impressive form with 13 points. Despite the defeat, coach Jurica Golemac remained positive, emphasizing the learning opportunities from losses. The team will look to bounce back in their upcoming games against Borac Mozzart and Spartak Subotica.

Before the game, fans enjoyed a spectacular pre-game show featuring UAE’s Sharmila Dance Center and Slovenia’s Dunking Devils, adding to the excitement of the event. With future games scheduled in Serbia and back at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, basketball fans can look forward to more thrilling action from Dubai Basketball in the ABA League season.
