Dravid applauds Indian team’s fighting spirit, inspiring younger generation

Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the victorious Indian cricket team at the ICC T20 World Cup, recently recalled the last time Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the team in Ahmedabad. He mentioned that during their previous encounter, the atmosphere was filled with gloom and heartbreak, following the team’s defeat against Australia in the ODI World Cup. However, during their recent meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence, it was a display of pride and joy.

Dravid expressed his gratitude towards PM Modi for taking the time to meet with the team during the ODI World Cup final match against Australia in Ahmedabad. Despite their loss in the final, Dravid appreciated the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister once again. He highlighted the players’ fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude, stating that they will serve as an inspiration to the younger generation.

During the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav made a crucial catch of David Miller, contributing to the team’s victory. He mentioned that initially, he was thinking of saving a boundary but ended up taking a match-winning catch. Suryakumar emphasized the importance of practice in honing their skills and executing such critical moments during the game.

After leaving Delhi, the Indian team embarked on an open-top bus parade in Mumbai led by captain Rohit Sharma. The streets were filled with fans celebrating the team’s success in the T20 World Cup. The parade at Marine Drive witnessed a massive turnout of supporters who danced and rejoiced in India’s victory, showcasing their love and admiration for the players.

The momentous occasion when Prime Minister Modi visited the Indian cricket team following their defeat in the ODI World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad was marked by his encouragement and support to the players. Modi interacted with each player individually, offering words of comfort and motivation. His presence during the team’s difficult time served as a source of inspiration for the players.

Dravid acknowledged the significance of PM Modi’s presence during challenging times, expressing his delight at meeting the Prime Minister once again under joyful circumstances. He credited the players for their hard work and dedication, which led to their success in the T20 World Cup. Dravid emphasized the team’s resilience and spirit, stating that they have set a remarkable example for the younger generation to follow.

The open-top bus parade in Mumbai, organized to celebrate India’s T20 World Cup victory, was a grand affair that brought together fans from all walks of life. The enthusiastic crowd cheered for the players as they paraded through the streets, showcasing their support and admiration for the team.
