The DP World Tour Championship has launched a new initiative called ‘The Luckiest Society on Earth’, offering golf societies in the UAE the chance to win a spot in an exclusive ‘Player Clinic’ led by a top 50 DP World Tour professional. The championship is set to take place at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 14th to 17th. To participate, golf societies need to host a tournament before October 27th, with the top two performers from each society earning a spot in the Player Clinic.

Several golf societies in the UAE have already signed up for the competition, including the Social Golf Society, DREGS, Dubai Irish Golf Society, Emirates Gentlemen’s Golf Society, Lighthouse Golf Society, Dubai Swingers, and Dubai Teachers Golf. Tom Phillips, Director of the DP World Tour Middle East, expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating that it aims to strengthen the connection with the local golf community and provide meaningful opportunities for amateurs to engage with the sport.

In addition to the Player Clinic competition, indoor entertainment venues such as Five Iron Golf Dubai and SwingFIT Academies will also be hosting competitions for those who prefer a non-traditional golf setting. Two winners from each participating society will have the opportunity to receive expert tips and guidance from a DP World Tour professional to improve various aspects of their game. For more information on how to participate, individuals are encouraged to contact their local golf societies and the participating venues.

Confirmed competitors for the 16th edition of the DP World Tour Championship include four-time Major champion Rory McIlroy and 2024 Olympic Silver Medallist Tommy Fleetwood. The championship will feature the top 50 players on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai Rankings competing for the prestigious Harry Vardon Trophy. The championship offers a platform for golf enthusiasts of all levels to witness top professionals in action and showcases the region’s growing presence in the global golfing community.

Overall, ‘The Luckiest Society on Earth’ competition by the DP World Tour Championship provides a unique opportunity for golf societies in the UAE to engage with the sport at a professional level. By hosting tournaments and awarding top performers with spots in an exclusive Player Clinic, the initiative aims to foster a deeper connection between the local golf community and the DP World Tour. With the participation of renowned professionals like McIlroy and Fleetwood, the championship promises an exciting and competitive event that showcases the talent and dedication in the UAE golfing scene.
