Belgium’s star forward, Romelu Lukaku, has been facing some tough luck at the UEFA EURO 2024 football competition, with three of his goals being overturned after VAR reviews. His teammate, Jérémy Doku, revealed that Lukaku is now “scared to celebrate” when he scores due to this recent string of bad luck. Despite not having a valid goal yet in the tournament, Lukaku remains positive and focused on helping his team succeed.

In Belgium’s match against Slovakia, Lukaku had two goals disallowed, one for offside and one for a handball by another player. In their subsequent game against Romania, VAR once again overturned Lukaku’s goal for offside. Despite these setbacks, Doku mentioned that Lukaku is still happy because the team was able to secure a victory in their last game. While Lukaku is eager to score and improve his individual stats, he is also focused on creating chances and helping his team succeed overall.

Belgium is set to face Ukraine in their final Group E match, where all four teams are currently tied on three points each. Doku expressed that the team is feeling the pressure but remains focused on winning the game. Regardless of the standings, Belgium’s goal is to secure another victory and advance in the competition. Doku mentioned that the team is not overly concerned about the performances of the other teams in the group, as their main focus is on their own performance and securing a win.

Despite the challenges faced by Lukaku in the tournament so far, his impact on the team has been significant. While he may not have scored a valid goal yet, Lukaku has been instrumental in creating chances and providing assists for his teammates. His presence on the field is crucial for Belgium’s success, and his positive attitude and commitment to the team’s goals are evident to his teammates and fans alike.

As Belgium prepares for their crucial match against Ukraine, the team is focused on maintaining their winning momentum and securing a spot in the next round of the competition. The pressure is on, but Doku emphasized that the team thrives in these high-stakes situations. Belgium is determined to come out on top in their final group stage match and continue their journey towards success at the UEFA EURO 2024. Despite the challenges and setbacks, Lukaku and his teammates remain united and determined to achieve their goals in the competition.
