Doha-based OIC Humanitarian Fund and Kuwait Society for Relief sign cooperation agreement

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR) have signed a cooperation pact in Doha, Qatar to enhance their regional and global presence in the humanitarian action fields. The agreement aims to increase opportunities for collaboration in programs, projects, and events, as well as sharing expertise and knowledge between the two parties. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds of OIC, HE Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, and Chairman of KSR, Dr. Ibrahim Al Saleh, co-signed the agreement.

According to HE Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, the humanitarian funds of OIC are always looking to expand partnerships with regional, global, and UN organizations. He praised Kuwait for its significant contributions in spearheading relief efforts worldwide. Chairman of KSR, Dr. Ibrahim Al Saleh, expressed the desire to advance cooperation in humanitarian programs and relief projects, as well as sharing expertise and knowledge in humanitarian action and emergency response.

KSR Treasurer Jamal Al Nouri highlighted that the cooperation areas will include implementing joint humanitarian initiatives and joining existing relief or humanitarian projects. The parties have committed to allocating a certain amount of funds to support rapid intervention in disasters, crises, and emergencies. Executive Director of Humanitarian Funds of OIC, Osman Abdulqader, emphasized that the agreement reflects the urgent need to elevate and advance humanitarian work from both parties, leveraging their resources, personnel, and projects to overcome common challenges in the field.

The cooperation agreement between OIC and KSR aims to strengthen their humanitarian efforts, increase collaborations in relief initiatives, and share knowledge and expertise in humanitarian action and emergency response. The parties have committed to allocating funds to support rapid intervention in disasters and emergencies, as well as mobilizing financial resources for joint activities and projects. The agreement emphasizes the need for synergy and collaboration to advance humanitarian work in the face of global challenges.
