The Khareef season in Dhofar Governorate presents a significant opportunity to boost commercial and economic activity, thereby supporting the local economy and contributing to sustainable development in the region. The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Dhofar plays a crucial role in promoting investment opportunities and Omani products during this season through various events, conferences, and exhibitions. Naif bin Hamed Fadhel, a member of the Board of Directors of OCCI and Head of the Chamber’s branch in Dhofar, highlighted the efforts made to enhance the business environment in the governorate. The branch organises promotional exhibitions, receives delegations from sisterly and friendly countries, and supports small and medium enterprises to participate in events for free.

Fadhel emphasized the Chamber’s commitment to attracting and localizing foreign investments by facilitating mutual visits between business owners in Oman and other countries, providing data and direct communication with investors, and organizing visits for trade delegations in Dhofar. The branch offers services, facilities, information, and data related to investment opportunities to over 70,000 affiliates, promoting partnerships between the private sector in Oman and its counterparts in sisterly and friendly countries. Several trade delegations have been directed to countries like China and Indonesia, aiming to strengthen trade relations and raise investment rates in Dhofar. Workshops are also organized to educate members on trade principles, project development, and new laws and legislation in the business sector, opening up new horizons for self-employment.

In addition to organizing events and workshops, the Chamber seeks to remove obstacles facing various economic sectors in Dhofar. It monitors the challenges faced by businesses, provides appropriate recommendations, studies solutions, follows up with government agencies, and offers consultations to ensure the sustainability of commercial projects for male and female business owners. By addressing these issues and providing support to businesses, the OCCI branch in Dhofar aims to create a conducive environment for economic growth and development in the governorate. This proactive approach contributes to strengthening trade relations, attracting investments, and fostering entrepreneurship in the region during the Khareef season.

Overall, the efforts of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Dhofar Governorate play a vital role in promoting economic growth and supporting local businesses during the Khareef season. By organizing events, exhibitions, and trade delegations, the Chamber enhances the business environment, promotes investment opportunities, and facilitates partnerships between the private sector in Oman and other countries. Additionally, the provision of services, information, and workshops helps to educate businesses on trade principles, project development, and new legislation, ultimately contributing to the sustainability and growth of commercial projects in Dhofar. By overcoming obstacles and providing support to businesses, the OCCI branch aims to create a thriving and sustainable economy in the governorate.
