Oman is poised to further solidify its position as a key investment destination with the upcoming Sohar Investment Forum 2026, scheduled for February 4-5, 2026. The event, building on the success of its previous iteration, promises to showcase Sohar’s burgeoning industrial and investment landscape to a global audience. With confirmed delegations from 30 countries and a focus on attracting OMR300 million in investment, the forum is a crucial step towards realizing Oman Vision 2040.

Sohar Investment Forum 2026: A Gateway to Omani Opportunities

The organizing committee recently unveiled details of the forum, attended by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah. This introductory meeting underscored the forum’s significance as a catalyst for economic development in the North Al Batinah Governorate and across Oman. The event directly supports the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (OCCI) objectives to foster a thriving investment environment and attract foreign direct investment.

A Focused Vision for Sohar’s Industrial Growth

Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the OCCI branch in North Al Batinah, emphasized that this edition of the Sohar Investment Forum is being launched with a more refined and ambitious vision. The core aim is to position Sohar not just as an industrial hub, but as a fully integrated industrial and investment city – a primary engine driving Oman’s national economy. This is underpinned by the city’s state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure, seamless logistics network, and strategically advantageous location connecting regional and global markets.

Targeting Key Industrial Sectors

The forum’s focus will be sharply directed towards manufacturing and advanced industries, specifically those deeply integrated into robust industrial value chains. This includes a diverse range of sectors such as metallurgical industries, essential building materials, plastics production, the chemical industry, food processing, and the pharmaceutical sector. Furthermore, the event will highlight supporting industries, manufacturing-related services, efficient supply chains, and the implementation of smart logistics solutions.

Unveiling OMR300 Million in Investment Opportunities

One of the most compelling aspects of the Sohar Investment Forum is the presentation of approximately 50 concrete investment opportunities, primed for immediate implementation. These opportunities, collectively valued at an estimated OMR300 million, have been meticulously prepared in close collaboration with government entities and relevant institutions. This collaborative approach ensures that the opportunities align with value-added industrial and investment sectors, maximizing their potential for success.

Facilitating Connections and Partnerships

The forum’s program is designed to be highly interactive and conducive to building strong relationships. It will feature specialized panel discussions exploring the future of industry and industrial investment, with insights from leading officials and experts from both within Oman and internationally. Additionally, dedicated working papers will delve into specific industry trends and challenges.

Crucially, the event will host direct business-to-business (B2B) meetings. These meetings are specifically designed to foster strategic partnerships and facilitate direct communication between project owners, potential financiers, and eager investors. This direct access is invaluable for accelerating project development and securing funding.

An Accompanying Exhibition Showcasing Omani Capabilities

Alongside the forum itself, an accompanying exhibition will provide a comprehensive showcase of Oman’s capabilities. Government agencies, key economic institutions, and prominent industrial companies will all participate, highlighting the diverse range of available opportunities. The exhibition will also emphasize the various incentives and programs designed to empower investors and stimulate sustainable project growth. This is a vital component in attracting foreign investment and demonstrating Oman’s commitment to supporting businesses.

The event also aims to promote economic diversification within Oman, moving beyond traditional industries and embracing new technologies and innovative business models. This aligns with the long-term goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Looking Ahead: The Sohar Investment Forum as a Catalyst for Growth

The Sohar Investment Forum 2026 represents a significant opportunity for Oman to attract substantial investment, drive economic diversification, and solidify its position as a leading investment destination in the region. By showcasing Sohar’s integrated infrastructure, strategic location, and commitment to supporting investors, the forum is poised to unlock a new era of industrial and economic growth. Interested parties are encouraged to stay updated on the forum’s official website for registration details and further information. This event is not just a forum; it’s a gateway to a prosperous future for Oman.
