The 44th edition of King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an recently took place in Makkah, with Deputy Emir of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal honoring the winners. The competition, which drew 174 contestants from 123 countries, had a total prize money of SR4 million and was held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. The event was organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance and was attended by several prominent figures including princes, ministers, scholars, ambassadors, government officials, and mosque preachers in the Makkah region. Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh highlighted the importance of the competition in showcasing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the memorization and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
