Specialists at the Ministry of Works in Bahrain are working on introducing a new online service for submitting damage compensation requests through the ministry’s website. Minister of Works Ibrahim Al Hawaj has confirmed that the service will be available once all necessary procedures have been completed. This new service comes in response to a proposal by Abdullah Ashour, a municipal council member, who suggested improving the current system for citizens and residents to submit compensation requests for rain damage.

The proposal recommends that the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, along with the Ministry of Works, establish a more advanced and user-friendly online service for submitting compensation requests. Currently, claims are submitted through traditional forms processed by the Capital Trustees Board and municipal councils. The aim is to simplify the conditions and criteria for submitting compensation requests, especially for vehicles damaged by rain on waterlogged roads due to poor infrastructure and ineffective drainage systems.

In addition to streamlining the compensation process, Ashour’s proposal also calls for the implementation of permanent solutions to the issue of rainwater accumulation in the Sixth District and other areas of Bahrain. Urgent funds are needed to establish proper drainage networks to prevent flooding and water damage. The proposal also emphasizes the importance of providing temporary housing for those affected by flooding and financial assistance for citizens whose homes have been inundated due to inadequate infrastructure.

Furthermore, there is a need to address the problem of sewage water backflow into homes during the rainy season. The proposal suggests equipping all houses with systems to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety and well-being of residents. It is important to take proactive measures to mitigate the impact of rain damage on citizens and residents, especially during the rainy season when the risk of flooding and infrastructure issues is heightened.

The Ministry of Works is committed to finding sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by rain damage and flooding in Bahrain. By implementing the recommendations put forth by Ashour and other stakeholders, the government can improve the overall resilience of the country’s infrastructure and better protect its citizens from the consequences of inclement weather. The introduction of the new online service for submitting compensation requests is a step in the right direction towards modernizing and enhancing the efficiency of the current system.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Works in Bahrain is actively working on introducing a new online service for submitting damage compensation requests to streamline the process for citizens and residents affected by rain damage. The proposal put forth by Abdullah Ashour emphasizes the need for a more advanced and user-friendly system to ensure that affected individuals can easily access the assistance they need. By addressing the underlying issues of poor infrastructure and ineffective drainage systems, the government can better protect its citizens from the impacts of rain damage and flooding. Implementing permanent solutions and providing financial assistance to those affected are crucial steps towards building a more resilient and sustainable future for Bahrain.
