A delegation from the National Defence College of the Republic of India recently visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC) in Muscat. Led by Commodore Adil Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the MSC, the delegation was given an overview of the centre’s role in maintaining maritime security. They were also able to tour the facilities and see the latest systems and equipment used in fulfilling the MSC’s national duties.

In addition to visiting the MSC, the delegation also made a stop at the Command of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (COSAF) where they were welcomed by Air Commodore Nasser Said Al Saadi, Assistant SAF Chief of Staff for Training and Joint Drills. Discussions during the meeting at COSAF covered a range of topics related to training, as the visiting delegation was briefed on the roles and tasks of the COSAF.

The visit by the Indian delegation served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the two countries and further cooperation in the realm of maritime security and defense. By gaining a better understanding of the operations at both the MSC and COSAF, the delegation was able to see first-hand the commitment of Oman to maintaining security in the region.

The delegation’s tour of the MSC allowed them to see the cutting-edge systems and equipment utilized by the centre to carry out its national duties. This hands-on experience provided invaluable insight into the daily operations of the MSC and the vital role it plays in safeguarding maritime security in the region.

The discussions at COSAF highlighted the importance of ongoing training and joint drills in maintaining a high level of readiness within the Sultan’s Armed Forces. By exchanging ideas and experiences with the visiting delegation, officials at COSAF were able to share insights and best practices in training and preparedness.

Overall, the visit by the Indian delegation to Oman’s MSC and COSAF was not only a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, but also a chance to strengthen the bond between the two nations. As both countries continue to face evolving maritime security challenges, collaboration and cooperation between their defense forces will be crucial in ensuring stability and security in the region.
