Dassault Aviation, a renowned French aerospace company, has recently announced the creation of a subsidiary company, Dassault Aviation MRO India (DAMROI), dedicated specifically to its military maintenance, repair, and overall (MRO) activities in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This move is in line with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” policy to promote India’s self-reliance and boost indigenous value-added services. The company press release on September 25 highlighted that DAMROI will leverage Dassault Aviation’s technological expertise to enhance cooperation and collaboration within India’s aero defense ecosystem.

The establishment of DAMROI showcases Dassault Aviation’s commitment to fulfilling the needs of the Indian Air Force by offering customized products and services for its Mirage 2000 fleet and other fighter aircraft supplied by the company. The goal is to ensure optimal responsiveness and efficiency in meeting the Air Force’s requirements. This new subsidiary reaffirms Dassault Aviation’s dedication to expanding its presence in India and contributing significantly to positioning the country as a global aerospace supplier under the “Make in India” policy.

Moreover, Dassault Aviation’s involvement in India aligns with the “Skill India” initiative through the implementation of training and education programs. By cultivating a skilled workforce, the company aims to support India’s strategic vision for the future and drive success in the aerospace sector. With a legacy of delivering over 10,000 military and civil aircraft to more than 90 countries, including the popular Falcon family of business jets and the advanced Rafale fighter, Dassault Aviation is well-equipped to support India’s ambitions in the aerospace industry.

In 2023, Dassault Aviation reported revenue of Euro 4.8 billion, reflecting its strong position as a global leader in aircraft design, development, sales, and support. The expertise of the company spans various aircraft types, encompassing military drones, space systems, and high-end business jets. By establishing DAMROI in India, Dassault Aviation aims to deepen its roots in the country and leverage its vast experience to contribute to the growth and success of the Indian aerospace sector.

Overall, the creation of DAMROI by Dassault Aviation marks a significant step towards strengthening the company’s presence in India and supporting the country’s self-reliance goals. By offering tailor-made products and services for the Indian Air Force’s fleet, Dassault Aviation demonstrates its commitment to fostering collaboration and enhancing the indigenous aerospace industry. With its long-standing reputation and expertise in aircraft manufacturing, Dassault Aviation is poised to play a key role in shaping India’s aerospace future and contributing to its strategic vision for growth and development.
