Oman Customs recently conducted a raid in South Al Batinah Governorate, seizing over 2,200 bottles of alcoholic beverages. Additionally, in Muscat Governorate, more than 2,300 kilograms of tobacco derivatives were confiscated. The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department of Oman Customs carried out the raids, leading to the discovery of the illicit goods. The department has stated that legal action is being pursued against those responsible for the illegal activities.

The raid in Barka resulted in the seizure of 2,241 bottles of alcoholic beverages from a house. In another location in Seeb, a farm was raided, leading to the confiscation of over 2,300 kilograms of tobacco derivatives. Oman Customs is cracking down on the illegal trade of alcohol and tobacco products in the country, showing a zero-tolerance stance towards such activities. The department’s efforts have been successful in uncovering and confiscating a significant amount of illicit goods.

Alcohol and tobacco smuggling are prohibited activities in Oman, and those found to be engaging in such illicit trades can face severe legal consequences. Oman Customs is committed to enforcing the laws and regulations surrounding the import and sale of alcohol and tobacco products. The recent raids in South Al Batinah Governorate and Muscat Governorate reflect the department’s dedication to combating smuggling and illegal trade within the country.

The seized alcohol and tobacco products have been removed from circulation, preventing their sale and distribution in the market. This not only protects consumers from potentially harmful or counterfeit goods but also upholds the integrity of the legal trade in alcohol and tobacco products. Oman Customs’ vigilance and enforcement actions help to maintain the safety and security of the country and its citizens.

The individuals involved in the illegal activities have been identified and are currently facing legal consequences for their actions. Oman Customs is working diligently to hold those responsible for smuggling alcohol and tobacco products to account, sending a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated in the country. The department’s efforts to combat illicit trade are crucial in maintaining the rule of law and protecting public health and safety.
