Minister of Culture, Badr bin Farhan, recently met with the new Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Zhang Hua, to discuss ways to strengthen cultural relations between the two nations. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Culture headquarters in Diriyah, where the minister welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment. Minister Badr also expressed his gratitude to China for choosing Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair last June. During the meeting, both sides highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

In March of last year, Minister Badr visited China, where he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This MoU laid the foundation for future collaboration in the cultural sector between the two nations. The recent meeting between Minister Badr and Ambassador Zhang Hua provided an opportunity to discuss the outcomes of this visit and explore ways to further enhance cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Hamed Fayez and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for International Cultural Relations, Eng. Fahd Al-Kanaan.

The cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China is a reflection of the strong and friendly relations between the two nations. By exchanging cultural experiences and promoting dialogue between artists, intellectuals, and scholars from both countries, Saudi Arabia and China aim to deepen their understanding of each other’s cultures and traditions. Through initiatives such as the Beijing International Book Fair and the signing of the MoU for cultural cooperation, both countries are working to create more opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration. This will not only strengthen the bonds between Saudi Arabia and China but also promote mutual understanding and respect between their people.

The meeting between Minister Badr and Ambassador Zhang Hua was an important step towards further enhancing cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China. Both sides discussed ways to expand their collaboration in the cultural sector and promote greater exchange of ideas and experiences. By building on the successes of past initiatives and exploring new opportunities for cooperation, Saudi Arabia and China are laying the foundation for a long-lasting partnership in the field of culture. This partnership will not only benefit the peoples of both countries but also contribute to the enrichment and diversity of global culture.

As Saudi Arabia and China continue to strengthen their cultural relations, the people of both countries can look forward to more opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration. Through joint initiatives in the arts, literature, and heritage preservation, Saudi Arabia and China are working to create a more vibrant and inclusive cultural landscape. By celebrating each other’s cultural achievements and promoting dialogue between their artists and intellectuals, both nations are fostering a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation. This ongoing collaboration in the cultural sector is a testament to the deepening friendship between Saudi Arabia and China and the shared commitment to building a more interconnected and diverse world.

Overall, the meeting between Minister of Culture Badr bin Farhan and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hua marks a significant milestone in the cultural relations between Saudi Arabia and China. By reaffirming their commitment to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and exchange in the cultural sector, both nations are paving the way for a more vibrant and interconnected cultural landscape.
