Cultural Week from Qatar in Uzbekistan Comes to an End

The Ministry of Culture in Qatar recently concluded the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan, which ran from October 11 to 14. This event, held as part of the cultural cooperation between the two nations, aimed to showcase Qatari heritage, traditional arts, customs, and culture, while fostering cultural exchange and strengthening ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan. The week-long celebration featured a wide range of cultural and heritage activities, including the bayt al Sha’ar, Qatari majlis, traditional dances like the ardha dance, and performances of sea songs. One of the highlights of the event was the “Trio of Oud” and performances by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra that reflected Qatari musical heritage, attracting a large audience.

The cultural week offered attendees an immersive experience of Qatar’s rich traditions, with a blend of arts and performances that showcased the country’s cultural heritage. Visitors were able to explore exhibits of handicrafts, sadu weaving, bishts, traditional ships, marine tools, falconry, henna designs, and traditional Qatari cuisine at the traditional Qatari-inspired market. Film screenings produced by the Doha Film Institute, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways, were also featured to present the cultural image of Qatar to the Uzbek audience. The event aimed to bring the cultural image of Qatar closer to the Uzbek audience while providing a comprehensive insight into Qatari culture through traditional crafts, performances, and cuisine.

The cultural week in Uzbekistan also featured traditional Qatari crafts such as boat-building, traditional clothing and bishts, falconry, gypsum art, sadu weaving, henna designs, and maritime heritage. Additionally, traditional Qatari performances like the ardha dance and sea songs were showcased to offer a deeper understanding of Qatari culture to visitors. The event provided a platform for cultural exchange and building strong ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan through the sharing of traditional arts, customs, and heritage. The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s performances and the “Trio of Oud” were among the most popular events during the cultural week, reflecting the rich musical heritage of Qatar and captivating the audience.

Overall, the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan was a successful event that highlighted the cultural cooperation between Qatar and Uzbekistan. The event offered an immersive experience of Qatar’s rich traditions, customs, and heritage through a variety of cultural and heritage activities, arts, performances, and traditional crafts.
