Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, provided reassurance to the Saudi people regarding the health of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, who is currently undergoing treatment for a lung infection at Al-Salam Palace. During the weekly session of the Council of Ministers in Jeddah, Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed his prayers for the King’s speedy recovery and extended his gratitude to those who have shown concern for the Monarch’s health. The Crown Prince also briefed the Cabinet on his recent participation in the 33rd Arab Summit in Manama, Bahrain, where he emphasized Saudi Arabia’s focus on Arab and regional issues, as well as joint Arab action and regional security.

The Cabinet discussed the government’s recent activities, highlighting efforts to strengthen regional and international cooperation, advance bilateral and multilateral partnerships with friendly countries, and address climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. The Council praised the success of the second ministerial meeting of the Net-Zero Producers Forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia, as well as the recommendations of the Arab Forum of Anti-Corruption Agencies and Financial Intelligence Units. The Kingdom’s commitment to combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and corruption was reaffirmed during the session.

Saudi Arabia’s continued leadership in the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Executive Council was celebrated by the Cabinet, recognizing the Kingdom’s role in advancing ALECSO’s programs and goals in the Arab world. The Crown Prince emphasized his commitment to connecting with citizens across the Kingdom, as demonstrated by his recent visit to the Eastern Province to observe development projects firsthand. The Cabinet applauded the achievements of Saudi students at international competitions, such as ISEF and ITEX, highlighting the government’s support for education, research, and innovation to empower future generations.

The Council made several decisions during the session, including authorizing ministers to discuss and sign memorandums of understanding for cooperation in various fields with countries like Pakistan, Qatar, Tajikistan, and Djibouti. Saudi Arabia’s accession to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance and a cooperation agreement in the logistics sector with Djibouti were approved. Additionally, agreements for cooperation in the field of air transport services with Costa Rica and the postal field with other countries were authorized. The Cabinet also approved a cooperation agreement between the Saudi Presidency of State Security and Pakistan’s military intelligence agency to combat terrorism and its financing.

Overall, the session focused on Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts, commitment to regional and international cooperation, and dedication to addressing global challenges such as climate change and terrorism. The decisions made by the Cabinet reflect the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to advancing partnerships and collaboration in various sectors to contribute to a better future for humanity. As Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman continues to lead the country through these challenging times, the Saudi people remain optimistic about the well-being of their leaders and the nation’s progress.
