Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of Iran, will be taking the oath of office in an official ceremony today (July 30). Many are curious about how his presidency will impact relations between Tehran and Brussels, as Pezeshkian is considered a reformist. To get a better understanding of this, Radio Schuman spoke with Babak Kamiar, head of Euronews Persian team, to discuss the potential shifts in Iranian foreign policy under Pezeshkian’s leadership.

In addition to the Iran-EU relations, Radio Schuman also covers the recent trip of Italian Prime Minister to China. Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, believes that now is a crucial moment to reboot relations with China. This decision comes at a time when global alliances and partnerships are continuously evolving, and Italy seems to be looking towards strengthening ties with China.

Furthermore, Radio Schuman sheds light on the latest addition to the UNESCO World Heritage list, which happens to be an Italian site partly located in Rome. The inclusion of this site in the prestigious list highlights the significance of its cultural and historical value. The show is hosted and produced by Maïa de la Baume, with journalist Eleonora Vasques and production assistant, audio editing by Zacharia Vigneron, and music by Alexandre Jas.

Overall, the inauguration of Masoud Pezeshkian as the new President of Iran marks a significant moment in the country’s political landscape. As a reformist leader, there is anticipation about how Pezeshkian’s leadership will shape Iranian foreign policy and relations with other countries, particularly the European Union. Additionally, the decision of the Italian Prime Minister to strengthen ties with China reflects the changing dynamics of global partnerships and alliances. This move indicates a strategic approach by Italy to enhance cooperation with China amidst evolving international relations.
