The Ministry of Health in Muscat signed an agreement with Renardet SA (Consulting Engineers) to design the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health at Sultan Haitham City (SHC). The agreement, valued at OMR1.3 million, is part of the efforts to implement the first phase of the SHC project and improve healthcare services in the modern city. The agreement was signed by Sulaiman Nasser Al Haji and Lorenzo Nicolai, and was attended by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti and Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shu’aili.

The main aim of the agreement is to enhance the quality of health services for women and children in SHC, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for all members of society. It includes consulting services, studies, surveys, and the design of masterplans to determine the project’s key aspects. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is also involved in creating a healthy environment that supports vitality in the eco-city, with a focus on providing healthcare facilities within SHC.

To support the healthcare infrastructure in SHC, an agreement worth over RO 90 million was signed to build a referral hospital with 800 beds, in addition to the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health with a capacity of 500 beds. Sultan Haitham City has dedicated an area of one million square meters for healthcare facilities, including the referral hospital, Oman Health College, the Higher Institute for Health Sciences, and the Oman Medical Specialty Board. The first phase of implementation also includes allocating over 63,000 square meters for lands adjacent to health centers.

By signing this agreement, the Ministry of Health and Renardet SA are taking a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Sultan Haitham City. The focus on women and children’s health reflects SHC’s dedication to providing comprehensive healthcare for all members of society. The involvement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning highlights the importance of creating a healthy environment that supports the well-being of the community within the eco-city.

The development of the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health is part of a larger initiative to enhance healthcare infrastructure in SHC, including the construction of a referral hospital and other key facilities. The allocation of significant funds towards these projects demonstrates the commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services in the modern metropolis. The collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Renardet SA signifies a partnership aimed at achieving the common goal of improving health services for women and children in SHC.

Overall, the agreement signed between the Ministry of Health and Renardet SA marks a crucial milestone in the development of healthcare facilities within Sultan Haitham City. The focus on women and children’s health, as well as the commitment to offering comprehensive healthcare services, reflects the vision of SHC to create a healthy and vibrant community. With the support of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the healthcare infrastructure in SHC is set to undergo significant improvements, paving the way for a healthier future for all residents.
