CONNECT-IT exhibition showcasing Italian engineering excellence now open in Msheireb

Italy’s Deputy Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, H E Valentino Valentini, recently opened the worldwide premiere of “CONNECT-IT. Visions to connect the world” exhibit in cooperation with ANCE, the Italian national association of construction companies, at Msheireb Downtown Doha. Deputy Minister Valentini emphasized the cultural and functional significance of the exhibited buildings, highlighting the strong connection between Italy and Qatar. He spoke about the importance of architecture in shaping the way we live together and contributing to the welfare and future of humanity.

Valentini expressed his hope that the exhibition will showcase the innovative and traditional sides of Italy, demonstrating how the two nations can work together to contribute to making the world a better place. Italy Ambassador to Qatar, H E Paolo Toschi, commended the exhibition as a blend of creating high-quality infrastructure while also perpetuating an act of culture. He stressed Italy’s desire to not only build excellent infrastructures in Doha but also to be part of the city’s cultural evolution.

Curated by Prof. Tullia Iori, Ludovico Pratesi, and Marco Bassan, “CONNECT-IT” displays Italian excellence in engineering through masterpieces built both in Italy and abroad. The exhibit offers an interactive experience for visitors to immerse themselves in the heart of great Italian works through texts, pictures, music, and videos from renowned artists. The exhibition is divided into five capsules, each focusing on a specific theme related to landscape, cities, history, heritage, borders, and Italian infrastructures constructed globally by Italian firms.

The showcase of Italian engineering excellence at “CONNECT-IT” aims to demonstrate the strong bond between Italy and Qatar, showcasing how the two nations can work together to create innovative and traditional infrastructures that contribute to the betterment of society. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the rich history and culture of Italy through its architectural masterpieces, highlighting the important role that architecture plays in shaping our environment and enhancing our daily lives.

The worldwide premiere of “CONNECT-IT. Visions to connect the world” exhibit at Msheireb Downtown Doha represents a significant collaboration between Italy and Qatar in the field of architecture and engineering. Through this exhibit, Italy showcases its expertise in creating high-quality infrastructures that not only serve practical purposes but also contribute to the cultural evolution of cities like Doha.
