The Finance and Legal Committee of the Muharraq Municipal Council has recommended suspending the permits of delivery companies until a regulatory legal framework is established. Chaired by Ahmed Al Maqhawi, the committee held a meeting with council members Abdulqader Al Sayed, Mohammed Al Mahmoud, and Dalal Al Muqhawi to address concerns related to delivery businesses. The committee aims to invite relevant authorities to find solutions to problems associated with these companies, without increasing fees to prevent consumer price hikes.

During the meeting, the committee expressed surprise at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s decline to attend discussions on the operation of delivery companies. Al Maqhawi stated that the goal of the invitation was to gather preliminary information to determine the responsibilities of each entity in overseeing these businesses. The committee also reviewed investment opportunities for the Muharraq Grand Park following the departure of the previous investor, proposing new conditions to prioritize residents’ comfort and reduce noise pollution from recreational activities.

Additionally, the committee discussed land acquisition procedures for public benefit within the Muharraq municipality and addressed the issue of street vendors based on Resolution No. (1) of 2006. The council believes regulating street vendors is necessary to ensure public safety and health standards. The committee is committed to finding optimal solutions for the challenges faced by delivery companies as they work towards establishing a regulatory legal framework to better address these issues.

The Muharraq Municipal Council’s Finance and Legal Committee emphasized the importance of protecting residents’ interests and promoting public safety within the municipality. By suspending the permits of delivery companies pending the establishment of a regulatory framework, the committee aims to address concerns and prevent any potential increase in fees that may impact consumers. The committee’s focus on resolving challenges related to these businesses reflects their commitment to upholding standards and ensuring the smooth operation of services within the municipality.

Through discussions on investment opportunities for the Muharraq Grand Park and land acquisition procedures for public benefit, the committee is actively working towards enhancing the quality of life for residents. By proposing new conditions to safeguard residents’ comfort and well-being, the committee is dedicated to creating a conducive environment for all community members. Additionally, the committee’s efforts to regulate street vendors demonstrate their commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding health standards within the municipality.

Overall, the Finance and Legal Committee of the Muharraq Municipal Council is focused on addressing various challenges and opportunities within the municipality to promote sustainable development and enhance residents’ quality of life. By engaging in discussions with relevant authorities and proposing measures to protect residents’ interests, the committee is actively working towards creating a cohesive and thriving community. Through their commitment to finding optimal solutions for delivery companies, investment opportunities, and street vendors, the committee is striving to uphold regulatory standards and ensure the well-being of all residents within the Muharraq municipality.
