Qatar Reads, an initiative of Qatar National Library, recently hosted a special event at a metro station in Doha. The event, held in collaboration with Qatar Rail, aimed to provide children with an opportunity to explore the metro system while receiving educational materials designed to enhance their understanding of transportation. The event took place at Qatar National Library Metro Station on September 14 and featured reading packages with the theme “Technology and Transportation: Explore with Doha Metro.”

The event kicked off with a welcoming session and opening remarks from distinguished speakers, including Tan Huism, Executive Director of Qatar National Library, Ibrahim Al Sayed, General Manager of Dar Al Watad publishing house, and Abdullah Al Mawlawi, Director of Communications and Public Relations at Qatar Rail. Huism expressed pride in supporting initiatives like Qatar Reads that promote knowledge and education for all. She highlighted the importance of empowering children and families through innovative learning experiences and fostering a love of knowledge and discovery.

Guests at the event had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the metro led by experts, gaining insights into the operations of Doha’s transportation system. Qatar Reads, in collaboration with Dar Al Watad, also launched a new book titled A Journey on the Metro, aimed at providing children with a unique educational experience about the metro tour project. Ibrahim Al Sayed expressed his pleasure at launching the book and emphasized the importance of introducing children to the metro in an innovative and educational way.

The event at the Qatar National Library Metro Station offered a rich experience that combined learning and discovery, giving children and their families a unique opportunity to explore transportation in modern ways. The Family Reading Program, a flagship initiative of Qatar Reads, offers monthly book packages curated for children aged 3 to 13 years old. Through initiatives like this, Qatar Reads is committed to nurturing young minds and fostering a love of knowledge among children and their families.

Overall, the event at the metro station was a success, providing attendees with a memorable and enriching experience. Through collaborations with organizations like Qatar Rail and Dar Al Watad, Qatar Reads continues to inspire the next generation and promote a culture of lifelong learning. By offering educational content and innovative learning experiences, Qatar Reads is making a significant impact on the community and helping children develop a passion for knowledge and discovery.
