The Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) recently met to discuss the major developments in the leading global economies and the challenges they face. During the meeting, the Council reviewed the monthly update of local and global economic developments for the month of October 2024. The Kingdom was praised for its progress in international indicators, especially in terms of its classification as a leading model with the highest category in the United Nations Cybersecurity Index for the year 2024. This achievement reflects the strong support and dedication of the wise leadership in implementing the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Additionally, the Council discussed the report of the Project Management Office regarding the follow-up of decisions and recommendations issued by CEDA in the third quarter of 2024. The report highlighted the continued increase in performance indicators for entities, with many exceeding 98 percent. The Council also reviewed the outcomes of the Saudi delegation’s participation in the Saudi-Brazilian International Aviation Conference, where agreements and memoranda of cooperation were signed to enhance the Kingdom’s pioneering role in the field of aviation in alignment with Vision 2030’s plans and strategies.

Other topics and reports on the agenda included discussions on the organization of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, as well as the National Program for Succession and Leadership Development. The Council also reviewed the Economic Forecast Report for the first quarter of 2024, the Executive Summary of Foreign Trade for July, the Summary of the Wholesale Price Index Report for August, and the Consumer Price Index Report for the same period. After discussing these topics, the Council concluded the meeting by making necessary decisions and recommendations.

Overall, the CEDA meeting highlighted the Kingdom’s progress in international indicators and its commitment to achieving the goals set out in Vision 2030. The strong support and dedication from the wise leadership have been instrumental in driving the Kingdom’s success in various sectors, including cybersecurity and aviation. The continued increase in performance indicators for entities is a positive sign of the Kingdom’s economic growth and stability. The agreements and memoranda of cooperation signed during the Saudi-Brazilian International Aviation Conference further solidify the Kingdom’s position as a leader in the aviation industry.

The discussions on the organization of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, as well as the National Program for Succession and Leadership Development, underscore the Kingdom’s focus on building a strong foundation for future growth and development. The review of economic reports and indices also indicates a thorough analysis of the Kingdom’s economic performance, helping to guide future decision-making. The Council’s commitment to making necessary decisions and recommendations reflects its dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s economic progress and prosperity.

In conclusion, the CEDA meeting provided valuable insights into the Kingdom’s economic development and its commitment to achieving the goals outlined in Vision 2030. The Kingdom’s success in international indicators, cybersecurity, and aviation further solidifies its position as a leading global player. With continued support from the wise leadership and a focus on organizational development and economic analysis, the Kingdom is well-positioned for future growth and success. The decisions and recommendations made during the meeting will undoubtedly contribute to the continued advancement of the Kingdom’s economy and its overall prosperity.
