The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) and Bridgewater State University (BSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic collaboration and establish a sustainable partnership. The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Mohammed Al Horr, President of CCQ, and Frederick W. Clark, President of BSU, in the presence of various officials and media representatives. The agreement focuses on developing new academic programs, conducting joint research initiatives, evaluating graduation projects, and organizing workshops in areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Al Horr expressed his excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the goal of preparing students for successful careers through knowledge exchange and research projects. He highlighted CCQ’s commitment to academic excellence and student development, stating that partnerships with local and international institutions contribute to Qatar’s knowledge-based economy. Frederick W. Clark also praised the partnership, mentioning plans for student and faculty exchanges, curriculum development, program assessment, and academic quality assurance.

Dr. Madhu Rao, Director of the MENA Studies Program at BSU, noted that the collaboration will enhance the growth of the Middle East and North Africa Studies program. Dr. Jabbar Al Obaidi, Academic Director of International Student Recruitment at BSU, expressed hope for increased opportunities for students, faculty, and staff through joint programs, research endeavors, academic conferences, and COIL initiatives. Dr. Jakari Griffith, Interim Assistant Provost for Global Engagement at BSU, highlighted the intention to strengthen cultural and educational connections between the institutions.

The signing of the MoU represents a step towards building a brighter future for youth in Qatar and the USA, as mentioned by Doug Shropshire, Vice President of Finance at BSU. The collaboration aims to create meaningful educational exchanges that benefit students, faculty, and staff at both CCQ and BSU. By leveraging their expertise and resources, the institutions are working towards fostering sustainable development and enriching the academic experience of students through joint research projects, workshops, and curriculum enhancements. Overall, the agreement signifies a commitment to promoting academic excellence and preparing students for successful careers in a globalized world.
