The Cabinet’s regular meeting held in Doha was chaired by HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, where they praised the speech of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The speech outlined a roadmap for the future, emphasizing the need to focus on developing human competencies and expertise in all fields, evaluating workers according to professionalism standards, and enhancing work ethics. The Cabinet expressed pride in HH the Amir’s vision for necessary constitutional and legislative amendments to enhance national unity, justice, and equality in rights and duties among citizens.
The Cabinet also highlighted the importance of cooperation between legislative and executive authorities to achieve the country’s supreme interest under wise leadership. They commended HH the Amir for supporting joint Gulf work and Qatars efforts during its current presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Additionally, Qatars foreign policy was reaffirmed to be based on principles that achieve national objectives, reflect Islamic, Arab, and Gulf affiliation, and fulfill international commitments for the benefit of humanity.
HH the Amir’s steadfast positions regarding the Palestinian cause were praised, with a commitment to reach an agreement that ends the war and secures aid for the people of Palestine. The Cabinet condemned the airstrikes and military operations in Lebanon by the Israeli occupation forces. The directives in HH the Amir’s speech were seen as a framework for the government’s upcoming work, with immediate implementation.
The Cabinet approved a draft law adopting the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2025 and referred it to the Shura Council. Another draft law concerning attracting non-Qatari investment and its role in economic activities was agreed upon in principle, aiming to incentivize investment in the country’s economic activities. A draft decision by the Minister of Municipality to prevent visual and environmental pollution caused by trucks and vehicles parking in unauthorized areas was also approved.
The Permanent Population Committee’s study on persons with autism and its recommendations were reviewed, and the Cabinet took appropriate action. Approval was given for the National Archives of Qatar to join international organizations and centers, as well as a draft Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Interior of Qatar and the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community of Germany for security cooperation. Executive programs for sports and youth between Qatar and Oman, as well as Qatar and the Philippines, were also approved for the upcoming years.
