Oman Flour Mills Company (OFM) and Omran Group recently signed usufruct agreements to utilize lands at Sultan Qaboos Port and in the Mina District area in Muscat, Oman. This step reflects Oman’s commitment to enhancing food security and developing the economic sector. The agreements, covering a total space of 60,000 square meters, aim to strengthen storage and distribution capabilities to meet local market demands and enhance the sustainability of the food sector in the country. The expansion of silos to 200,000 metric tons and horizontal warehouses to 76.6 thousand metric tons will increase storage capacity. The use of latest technologies in storage systems will boost operational efficiency and reduce losses, with new facilities designed to meet highest standards of safety and quality.

Haitham Al Fanah, CEO of OFM, expressed that these agreements mark a milestone in the company’s journey, aiming to enhance storage and distribution capabilities. The collaboration with Omran Group is seen as an opportunity to invest in the latest technologies and provide the best services. These agreements will also improve operational efficiency and help OFM meet the growing demand for food products. Al Fanah emphasized the importance of implementing high-quality standards in all processes to ensure consumers receive reliable and safe products. The projects reflect Oman’s commitment to adopting innovation and high-tech technology in food security, utilizing modern storage systems to improve inventory management and effectively meet market demands. Investment in modern technology will also support national goals by reducing environmental impact through the use of environmentally friendly technologies in all projects.

Overall, the partnerships and agreements signed by OFM and Omran Group signify Oman’s dedication to enhancing food security and developing the economic sector in the Sultanate. By expanding storage capacity and utilizing the latest technologies in storage systems, the country aims to meet the growing demands of the local market and ensure the sustainability of the food sector. The commitment to implementing high-quality standards and environmentally friendly technologies reflects Oman’s vision of innovation and modernization in enhancing food security. With these agreements, Oman is taking significant steps towards improving operational efficiency and meeting market demands effectively, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the food sector in the country.
