The Power Transmission & Distribution business of Larsen & Toubro has recently secured multiple orders in Gulf countries and India, showcasing its strong presence in the region’s clean energy sector. In Kuwait, the company will build a 400kV Gas Insulated Substation to power residential clusters in South Sabah Al-Ahmad City. Meanwhile, in Oman, the business is working on integrating various electricity networks into a national grid through the construction of a 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line and two 400 kV Grid Stations. In the UAE, orders have been received to construct two 132 kV substations, further solidifying Larsen & Toubro’s position in the region’s power sector.

In India, the company has also secured orders to establish two floating solar plants with a total capacity of over 150 MWac, in addition to a ground-mounted Solar PV plant with a capacity of 120 MWac. Floating solar plants offer several benefits, such as not requiring land acquisition and involving less civil works compared to traditional solar plants. Furthermore, PT&D has received orders to establish 765 kV transmission lines and a Gas Insulated Substation in Rajasthan and Karnataka to integrate Solar Energy Zones in the country and enable the evacuation of renewable energy to various load centers.

T Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director & Sr Executive Vice President (Utilities) at Larsen & Toubro, commented on the recent developments, emphasizing the importance of reliable and clean energy in driving the growth of industries. He highlighted the significant investments being made in both renewables and grid infrastructure in the region, as well as the rapid innovations in solar power and hybrid technologies. Larsen & Toubro is proud to be at the forefront of implementing advanced projects that play a critical role in the energy sector.

Overall, Larsen & Toubro’s recent orders in Gulf countries and India demonstrate its leadership in the clean energy space and its commitment to implementing technologically advanced projects that support the growth of the region’s power sector. With a focus on renewable energy and grid infrastructure, the company is contributing to the development of reliable and sustainable electricity solutions that will benefit industries and communities across the region and beyond.
