Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to embark on a five-day official visit to Uzbekistan, accompanied by a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Finance. Her visit will include attending the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Samarkand, as well as important bilateral meetings with counterparts from Uzbekistan, Qatar, China, and the AIIB President.
India, as the second largest shareholder of the AIIB, will have a significant role in the discussions at the Annual Meeting, which will focus on a wide range of global development issues.
