The recent announcement of the upcoming Apple event has tech enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the iPhone 16. Set to be streamed live from the Steve Jobs Theater on September 9, fans in the UAE can watch it at 9pm on Apple’s website, YouTube, or Apple TV. With just a week left until the event, excitement is building around the new features and upgrades that the iPhone 16 is expected to bring.

However, as the launch date for the iPhone 16 approaches, many are wondering if the prices of the current iPhone 15 lineup will see a reduction. Taking a look at popular retailers like Amazon and Sharaf DG in the UAE, as well as the official Apple website, it is evident that there are already discounts available on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. This presents a great opportunity for consumers who are looking to purchase an iPhone at a lower price.

For example, the iPhone 15 Pro 128GB variant in Natural Titanium is priced at Dh3,699 on Amazon and Dh3,649 at Sharaf DG, while the official Apple website lists it at Dh4,299. Similarly, the base model of the iPhone 15 lineup is priced at Dh2,679 on Amazon, Dh2,899 at Sharaf DG, and Dh3,399 on the Apple website. These reduced prices from retailers make it an ideal time for users to purchase an iPhone 15 before the unveiling of the iPhone 16.

Looking ahead to the iPhone 16 lineup, rumours suggest that Apple will introduce four new models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. With features like larger displays, the latest A18 Pro chip, and up to seven colour options, the iPhone 16 series is expected to offer significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the integration of Apple’s in-device AI processing, known as “Apple Intelligence,” is set to enhance various aspects of iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 series.

In terms of pricing, reports indicate that the iPhone 16 Pro may see a $100 price increase, with the discontinuation of the 128GB version. However, the rest of the lineup is anticipated to maintain similar pricing to the iPhone 15 range in 2023. As the official launch date for the iPhone 16 draws near, consumers can expect more information and details to be revealed at the ‘Glowtime’ event, which promises to showcase Apple’s latest innovations and advancements in mobile technology.
