Gargash Insurance, a leading insurance brokerage firm, has recently formed a special task force to manage the surge in claims requests following the record-breaking rainfall in the UAE. The firm typically receives an average of 140 motor insurance claims per week, but last week saw a significant increase with over 700 claims registered across the emirates. Rajendran M, Deputy Managing Director, emphasized the importance of providing round-the-clock support to customers to initiate the claims process and ensure proper documentation.

The heavy rainfall in the UAE had a detrimental impact on many vehicles and properties, with cars stranded on roads and motorists forced to abandon their vehicles. To address the rising number of claims, Gargash Insurance has doubled the number of staff handling claims and implemented a special task force to ensure that every case is handled with utmost consideration. The company’s digital platform has played a vital role during this time, keeping customers informed through social media and facilitating the online registration of claims.

Rajendran advises customers to ensure they have a comprehensive motor insurance policy with appropriate cover extensions to protect their vehicles in unforeseen situations like the recent rainstorms. He also highlights the importance of home insurance for individuals and encourages business owners to review their insurance arrangements with a professional insurance broker to ensure adequate protection against extreme weather events. Rajendran stresses the need for businesses to consider purchasing business interruption policies to cover not only material damages but also loss of profits due to business shutdown.

As professional intermediaries, Gargash Insurance aims to provide 360-degree coverage for their customers while ensuring that their interests are protected within the parameters of the insurance policy. Rajendran recommends purchasing comprehensive motor insurance covers with natural perils and calamities, especially in light of recent extreme weather events in the UAE. He emphasizes the importance of conducting a true assessment of risks with the help of professional insurance brokers to ensure adequate coverage for all possible scenarios.

In conclusion, Rajendran highlights the importance of maintaining proper insurance coverage to protect valuable assets and investments. He urges individuals to prioritize home insurance and business owners to consider business interruption policies to safeguard against unforeseen events. By working closely with professional insurance brokers, customers can ensure that their insurance arrangements are in line with their needs and provide adequate protection in times of crisis.
