Dubai has introduced the ‘One Million Prompters’ program, the world’s first and largest Artificial Intelligence (AI) prompt engineering training initiative. The initiative aims to upskill one million people in prompt engineering over the next three years. The launch of the program was announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, emphasizing the importance of keeping pace with technology trends for the success of governments and societies. This global initiative, overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), aims to empower individuals with the skills required to utilize AI applications for innovation and economic growth.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the rapid technological progress and the increasing demand for prompt engineering skills in today’s labor market. He expressed Dubai’s commitment to preparing for the AI era by developing expertise and skills that support global technological transformation. ‘One Million Prompters’ is aligned with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, focusing on accelerating the adoption of AI applications. This initiative will provide accredited certifications to individuals who complete the training courses, offering them opportunities to network and collaborate with experts across the technology ecosystem.
The launch of ‘One Million Prompters’ coincided with the conclusion of the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, the world’s largest AI prompt engineering challenge. The championship brought together participants from around the world to compete in various categories, such as Coding, Literature, and Art. Winners were recognized and awarded prizes totaling AED 1 million. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of expanding the championship to include more categories in future editions, offering opportunities for participants to showcase their skills in diverse fields.
The Global Prompt Engineering Championship received entries from around 100 countries, with thirty finalists qualifying to compete in Dubai for the title of Best Prompt Engineer. The final round took place at the Museum of the Future, where finalists showcased their skills and competed for the top honors. The championship also included workshops in collaboration with major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and IBM, as well as the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. The initiative aims to create a platform for individuals to enhance their prompt engineering skills and contribute to the advancement of AI applications globally.
