Sneha Shetty, a PADI Master Instructor, Freediving Instructor, and Technical Diving Instructor, is the first Indian woman to dive to a depth of 100 meters in the Red Sea. Her journey began eight years ago when she faced a near-drowning experience that could have kept her away from the water forever. Instead, she decided to confront her fear head-on, leading to a remarkable transformation in her life. Her dedication to mastering the water not only allowed her to achieve extraordinary milestones but also inspired countless individuals along the way.

As the Program Director at PADI Swim School, Sneha trains future swim instructors to help others conquer their fears and embrace the water. Known for her patience and empathy, she specializes in transforming individuals with severe water phobias into confident divers through unique techniques. Her success rate in converting non-swimmers and water-phobic individuals into divers is contributing to making scuba diving a more inclusive sport, regardless of physical abilities or gender.

Beyond diving and swimming, Sneha is also a passionate advocate for ocean conservation. Through her involvement with the PADI Aware Foundation, she has raised funds for projects aimed at protecting endangered marine species and preserving the beauty of underwater ecosystems. She actively participates in the PADI Dive Against Debris initiative, leading teams of divers in removing harmful waste from marine environments and educating students on the importance of preserving marine habitats and biodiversity.

Sneha’s commitment to ocean conservation and building a responsible diving community led her to dedicate her time and efforts to DiveCampus Diving Club, UAE’s first concept store for ‘everything diving’ and home to the region’s largest indoor ‘Dive Tank’ made with upcycled shipping containers. DiveCampus is also the first and only PADI Eco Center in Dubai, recognized for its environmentally sustainable practices. Firas Jundi, PADI EMEA Regional Manager, recognizes Sneha’s achievements as not just breaking barriers but also paving the way for a more diverse and inclusive dive industry while advocating for ocean conservation.

In conclusion, Sneha Shetty’s journey from overcoming her fear of water to becoming a leading figure in the diving community is a testament to her dedication, passion, and commitment to ocean conservation. Through her training programs, advocacy work, and involvement in marine conservation projects, she continues to inspire others to embrace the water, challenge their fears, and contribute to protecting our oceans. Sneha’s story serves as a reminder that with determination and perseverance, one can achieve remarkable feats and make a positive impact on the environment.
