Biggest Season Yet: QRC Has Exciting Year Ahead

The Qatar Racing Club (QRC) is set to kick off another thrilling season with the opening round of the Qatar Drift Championship held under the patronage of QRC Chairman H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani. The club held two days of testing last week to prepare for the new season, with the first day focusing on drift racers testing their cars and the second day for 4X4 freestyle racers. All preparations have been completed for what is expected to be an exceptional season with diverse championships and intense competition to attract a larger audience of motorsport enthusiasts.

QRC Chairman H E Sheikh Khalid’s vision is to place Qatar’s motorsport on the global map, with special attention given to elevating the club, diversifying its activities, and attracting more participants. General Manager Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al Thani highlighted that the new season will feature the largest number of events in its history, with the club organizing two separate drag racing championships. The Arabian Drag Racing League, featuring international champions, will consist of six rounds starting on January 9 and 10, while the Qatar Drag Racing Championship will have five rounds beginning after the Arabian Drag Racing League concludes. The Qatar Sand Drag Competition will also take place at the Sealine Sand Track, as well as freestyle and two-wheel stunt championships, roll races, Motocross track events, and electric scooter races.

The season will include several electric scooter races to reflect the growing interest and development in electric sports globally. The QRC aims to build an educated and aware community, aligning with Chairman Sheikh Khalid’s vision to continue building a youth base capable of achieving success in the motorsport industry. The club welcomes Gulf, Arab, and foreign teams under the guidance of the Chairman to provide the right conditions and positively impact the competitions. Beyond races, the club organizes events and exhibitions related to cars and motorcycles to support young people and enthusiasts of excellence and creativity. The Qatar Custom Show, scheduled for the 12th edition in January 2025, will bring car and bike lovers, companies, and supporting entities together, along with gatherings for car owners and motorcycle groups to celebrate National Sport Day and the National Day of the State.

In conclusion, the QRC is gearing up for an exciting season filled with diverse championships, intense competition, and efforts to attract a larger audience of motorsport enthusiasts. With the guidance of Chairman Sheikh Khalid, the club is focused on placing Qatar’s motorsport on the global map and building a youth base capable of achieving success in the industry. The season will feature a variety of events, including drag racing championships, sand drag competitions, freestyle and two-wheel stunt championships, Motocross track events, roll races, and electric scooter races to cater to the growing interest in electric sports. The QRC is dedicated to providing the right conditions for Gulf, Arab, and foreign teams, making it a shining beacon in the history of motorsport at both Gulf and international levels. The club’s commitment to supporting young people and enthusiasts of excellence and creativity through events and exhibitions related to cars and motorcycles demonstrates its passion for motorsport and its role in fostering a community of car and bike lovers in Qatar.
