A group of 36 individuals from Chittagong, Bangladesh won a combined total of Dh15 million in the latest Big Ticket Abu Dhabi raffle. Upon winning, they immediately decided to use a significant portion of their winnings to provide relief to flood victims in their homeland. The group had been pooling their money for five years, purchasing tickets in the hopes that their fortunes would change one day. The winning ticket, number 201918, was purchased in the name of Nur Miah, who contributed Dh25 and secured Dh350,000.

Reflecting on their life-altering fortune, Miah recalled the moment they received the call confirming their win. Despite being in the hospital at the time undergoing treatment, the news came as a shock. However, upon realizing the truth, the group immediately agreed to donate part of their winnings to help rebuild homes and lives devastated by the recent floods in Bangladesh. Miah, a painter by profession, plans to continue working for a few more months before starting his own business in the UAE, including a paint-selling shop and painting studio.

While some group members are looking to invest their winnings for their families’ future, the overarching goal remains to assist those in need. The group’s collective decision to prioritize humanitarian aid over personal luxury demonstrates their compassion and sense of duty towards their fellow countrymen. Their immediate response to the suffering of others showcases their commitment to giving back to their community in times of crisis. The group recognizes that their win is not just for their own benefit but also for the people who are currently struggling.

As they look towards a brighter future for themselves and their families, the group is determined to make a positive impact with their newfound wealth. Despite their newfound fortune, the group remains grounded and focused on the needs of others, reinforcing the values of generosity and solidarity. Their willingness to use their winnings to help rebuild homes and provide relief to flood victims exemplifies the power of unity and compassion in times of adversity. By prioritizing the well-being of their fellow countrymen, the group showcases the true essence of community support and solidarity in times of crisis.
