‘Bhayaprasthav’ shines in Bahrain

Team Bhavahara, in collaboration with the Indian Institute for Performing Arts, recently presented their latest community theatre production, ‘Bhayaprasthav’, in Bahrain. The play, inspired by SDG 15: Life on Land, featured the talents of around 40 artists both on and off stage. The event took place at the Cultural Hall in Bahrain and marked the 21st anniversary of the annual celebration ‘Aaghosh 2024’. This production aimed to highlight sustainability and community responsibility, shifting focus from their previous production inspired by the Indian epic ‘Mahabharata’.

The main objective of ‘Bhayaprasthav’ was to raise awareness about the importance of protecting ecosystems and inspiring positive environmental action. The play received praise from dignitaries such as His Excellency Vinod K Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, who attended the event as Chief Guest. MP Maryam Al Dhaen and Betsy Matheison of This is Bahrain were also guests of honour at the event. The performance garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience, showcasing Team Bhavahara’s ability to serve as a powerful voice for change through the arts.

With a focus on sustainability and community responsibility, ‘Bhayaprasthav’ aimed to deliver a powerful message about the need to protect the environment. By drawing inspiration from SDG 15: Life on Land, the play highlighted the urgent need for action to conserve ecosystems and promote environmental sustainability.
