Marton Belleli emerged as the champion of the 2024 FIM MiniGP Qatar Championship, despite finishing fifth in the final round races at the Lusail International Circuit. Belleli held a narrow lead over his closest competitor, Jake Franklin, going into the last two races. However, consistent finishes within the top five ensured he maintained his position at the top of the standings with a total of 147 points. Franklin’s third and fourth-place finishes in the races earned him the second spot with 144 points, while Riley Robinson secured third place with 121 points.

Franklin’s performance also earned him a spot in the FIM Mini GP World Final, which will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. Unfortunately, Belleli was ineligible for the World Final due to his age. The event will feature riders from 22 countries in the 160cc class, with one other MiniGP Qatar Championship rider joining Franklin on the starting line-up. Nolann Macary showcased his skills at the Lusail track, clinching victories in both races in the final round and securing sixth place in the championship standings with 100 points.

In Race 1, Macary set the pace with a fastest lap time of 1:01.738 and finished first in 15:34.366. Makar Novichkov took second place, followed by Franklin in third. The second race was equally exciting, with Macary dominating once again, setting an even faster best lap time of 1:01.322 and crossing the finish line in 15:28.662. Novichkov finished second in this race as well, while Petr Mayorov and Franklin took third and fourth places. Belleli maintained his fifth-place position in both races, securing the championship title.

The final championship standings reflected Belleli’s consistent performance throughout the season, with Franklin and Robinson following closely behind in second and third place, respectively. Andrea Giacchero, Mohammed Al Mutawa, Nolann Macary, Makar Novichkov, Petr Mayorov, Mahmoud ElBanna, Aaron Robinson, Carlsen Solis, and Ivan Maiorov rounded up the top twelve positions in the championship standings. The competitive nature of the 2024 FIM MiniGP Qatar Championship showcased the talents of young riders like Belleli and Franklin, setting the stage for an exciting future in motorcycle racing.
