Bahrain’s national jiu-jitsu team recently participated in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship for Masters, Adults, and Youth held in Heraklion, Greece. The team showcased their talent against over 700 athletes from 58 countries, ultimately earning five medals in various categories. The competition was intense, and Bahrain’s impressive performance put them on the map as a force to be reckoned with in the jiu-jitsu world.

In the Masters division, Bahrain’s veterans took the lead, with Bader Al-Dosari and Najad Al-Qassabi both claiming medals. Al-Dosari secured a silver medal in the under-77kg Masters 2 category, while Al-Qassabi earned a bronze in the under-85kg Masters 2 category. Their victories demonstrated Bahrain’s strength among experienced athletes and set the tone for the rest of the team’s performance at the championship.

In the Adults’ No-Gi division, Ali Munfaredi stood out by winning Bahrain’s only gold medal in the under-77kg category. Munfaredi’s victory was a moment of national pride and further solidified Bahrain’s reputation on the international stage. Additionally, Abdullah Al-Shaikh added to the medal tally with a silver in the under-56kg No-Gi category, showcasing the team’s remarkable performance in the men’s categories.

The female contingent of Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu team also made a strong impact at the championship, with Ala’a Saleh earning a bronze medal in the under-57kg No-Gi category. Saleh’s performance highlighted the depth and diversity of talent within Bahrain’s team, contributing to the overall success of the country’s representation at the competition. The five-medal finish was a testament to the team’s dedication and skill.

With one gold, two silvers, and two bronze medals, Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu team has set a high standard for future international competitions. The team’s success in Greece has provided them with momentum and motivation to continue training and improving for upcoming events. Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu program is clearly thriving, and the athletes are determined to build on their achievements and make their country proud on the global stage.
