Bahrain vows to update medical practices

The Kingdom of Bahrain is focused on enhancing its medical sector by ensuring adherence to global best practices and modern scientific expertise. This commitment was emphasized by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during a meeting with Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor and CEO/Registrar of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin (RCSI), at Gudaibiya Palace. The Prince highlighted the importance of investing in the education of Bahraini citizens to align with the comprehensive development goals set by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HRH Prince Salman praised the pivotal role played by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain in advancing higher medical education over the past two decades. He acknowledged the institution for its efforts in training and preparing medical professionals to meet the needs of the healthcare sector in Bahrain. The Prince also expressed his best wishes for RCSI’s continued success in contributing to the overall development of the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Professor Kelly and the RCSI delegation expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support of HRH Prince Salman towards Bahrain’s medical sector in terms of education and practical development. The delegation also included His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), as well as His Excellency Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and several senior officials.
