The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) recently participated in the International Tourism Fair of China (ITB China 2024) in Shanghai, alongside over 600 exhibitors from 80 countries. This event provided a valuable platform for global tourism promotion. BTEA officials, along with representatives from Gulf Air, the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, and other hospitality entities, showcased the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism sector and key attractions. They also highlighted cultural festivals and international events that draw visitors to the country.

Her Excellency Sarah Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of BTEA, emphasized the importance of the tourism sector in enhancing bilateral relations between Bahrain and China. She announced plans for a marketing campaign targeting Chinese markets, showcasing Bahrain as a desirable destination for Chinese tourists. Buhiji also discussed the “China Ready” program, aimed at improving Bahrain’s ability to cater to the specific needs of Chinese visitors and enhance their travel experiences.

The Bahrain pavilion at the exhibition offered tourism packages and attracted tourists from various countries. This presence at ITB China 2024 allowed Bahrain to increase its visibility on the global tourism stage and showcase its unique offerings to a diverse audience. The participation of BTEA officials and industry partners demonstrated a collaborative effort to promote Bahrain as a premier tourist destination.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion highlighted its vibrant tourism sector and featured its cultural festivals and international events. By showcasing these attractions, Bahrain aimed to entice Chinese tourists and strengthen its position as a tourist-friendly destination in the region. The participation in ITB China 2024 provided a platform for networking and collaboration with industry professionals from around the world.

The BTEA’s commitment to positioning the Chinese tourism market as a primary focus of attraction efforts underscores its dedication to diversifying Bahrain’s tourism industry. By targeting Chinese markets and implementing programs like “China Ready,” Bahrain is taking steps to enhance the tourism experience for Chinese visitors. This strategic approach aims to increase Chinese tourist arrivals and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.

Overall, Bahrain’s participation in ITB China 2024 was a successful endeavor that showcased the Kingdom’s tourism potential and strengthened its ties with the global tourism community. Through collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives, Bahrain is positioning itself as a welcoming destination for international visitors, with a specific focus on attracting Chinese tourists. With a vibrant tourism sector and a diverse range of attractions, Bahrain is poised to become a top choice for travelers seeking unique cultural experiences and luxury amenities.
