Bahrain Registers More Than 700 New Medications in 2024

The Arab Health Authorities Conference and Exhibition recently took place at the Gulf Convention Center, with the aim of enhancing healthcare services across Arab countries. Dr. Jaleela bint Alsayed Jawad Hasan, Bahrain’s Minister of Health, highlighted the importance of the conference in maintaining the quality and sustainability of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Bahrain. By sharing experiences and best practices, the conference aimed to elevate medical services and address common health challenges faced by Arab nations. The event was attended by prominent health officials and industry leaders, including HE Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Dr. Ahmed Mohammed AlAnsari.

The medical sector is a vital area that requires focused attention to ensure the successful implementation of strategies for maintaining public health in line with global developments. Dr. Jaleela emphasized the need for adopting the latest scientific advancements and discussing critical initiatives to meet shared objectives. Dr. AlAnsari praised the conference as a key platform for sharing expertise and fostering stronger cooperation in the healthcare sector across the Arab world. The event also featured multinational pharmaceutical companies showcasing innovative products, with over 700 new advanced medications registered in Bahrain this year alone.

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) received praise for its role in registering new products and ensuring that innovative medications are readily available in Bahrain. Dr. Sherin Goubran, General Manager of Yousuf Mahmood Husain Co., commended NHRA for enabling pharmaceutical experts to provide optimal services and highlighted the importance of the authority’s contributions to the healthcare sector. The forum provided an opportunity for participants to discuss current challenges and future recommendations in healthcare, with over 400 pharmacies operating across the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Overall, the Arab Health Authorities Conference and Exhibition served as a crucial platform for regional collaboration in the healthcare sector, allowing for the exchange of experiences and best practices among Arab nations. The event aimed to elevate medical services, address common health challenges, and foster stronger cooperation in the healthcare sector.
