Bahrainis celebrated the first day of Eid al-Adha with enthusiasm despite the high temperatures, as families gathered outside mosques for prayers and enjoyed traditional Eid lunches. The festive spirit was evident as people visited restaurants, shopping malls, beaches, and entertainment venues. One unique ritual, “Haya Baya”, involved throwing baskets with plants and seeds into the sea, symbolizing good fortune and blessings for those returning from Hajj.

Umm Khalid shared her family’s Eid traditions, which involved wearing traditional attire and heading to the beach with neighborhood children to participate in the “Haya Baya” ritual. The first day of Eid also included various events and performances organized by shopping malls, hotels, and entertainment venues to attract families and children. Cinemas saw a surge in attendance, with new film releases catering to different tastes.

The release of new films coinciding with Eid led to crowded theaters, offering a diverse range of genres for moviegoers. Theater enthusiasts were treated to the first performance of “Inthar Khatea” (False Alarm) featuring prominent Bahraini actors. Many families, like Mohammed Fadhel’s, chose to celebrate Eid in Bahrain due to the variety of activities announced by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, making traveling abroad unnecessary.

Saud Mohammed, a visitor from a neighboring Gulf country, praised Bahrain’s Eid celebrations, highlighting the improvements made in events and activities each year. He expressed his love for celebrating in Bahrain due to its unique charm, beautiful beaches, vibrant atmosphere, and a wide range of options for spending vacations. The Kingdom’s appeal lies in its traditional markets, modern venues like Marassi, cinemas, and exceptional Bahraini theater that cater to every member of the family.

Overall, the first day of Eid in Bahrain was marked by joyous celebrations, festive gatherings, and a variety of activities for families and visitors to enjoy. From traditional rituals like “Haya Baya” to modern entertainment options like cinemas and theaters, Bahrain offered something for everyone to celebrate the occasion. The Kingdom’s unique charm and vibrant atmosphere continue to attract visitors looking for a memorable Eid experience year after year.
