The Director-General of Traffic, Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, announced the successful digitalization of 15 traffic services in Bahrain. These efforts are part of the national drive to enhance digital transformation under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) and the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology has led to the simplification of procedures, reduction of paperwork, and seamless service delivery across electronic platforms.

The newly digitalised services include the annual renewal of vehicle registration certificates for government authorities and GCC citizens, as well as the ability to view and pay traffic fines for government and Gulf vehicles using the fine or ID number. Additionally, services such as the issuance of driving learning licenses for various vehicle categories and the booking of motorcycle driving tests have been made available online. These enhancements aim to improve service quality and efficiency based on user feedback and government policy.

Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman highlighted that further improvements are underway, such as the development of the booking system for driving tests for private and public transport vehicles. These ongoing developments aim to ensure that traffic services continue to meet the needs of the public and adhere to government regulations. By continuously upgrading and expanding digital services, Bahrain is prioritizing convenience and accessibility for its residents and visitors when it comes to traffic-related procedures.

The digitalization of traffic services in Bahrain is a significant step towards a more efficient and streamlined system. By utilizing technology to simplify processes and reduce paperwork, the government is making it easier for individuals and businesses to access and utilize essential services. This shift towards digital platforms not only enhances convenience for users but also contributes to the overall development and modernization of the country’s infrastructure and governance.

The successful digitalization of traffic services in Bahrain is part of a broader national effort to enhance digital transformation across government entities. By working closely with the Information and eGovernment Authority and the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology, Bahrain is paving the way for a more connected and efficient public sector. These collaborative efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery, increase transparency, and enhance overall citizen satisfaction.

As Bahrain continues to advance its digital transformation journey, the digitalization of traffic services serves as a prime example of the benefits of modernizing government processes. Through the implementation of online services and platforms, Bahrain is not only simplifying procedures for individuals and businesses but also driving economic growth and innovation. By embracing digital innovation, Bahrain is positioning itself as a forward-thinking and technologically advanced nation that prioritizes the needs and convenience of its citizens.
