Aswat secures Qatar Karting Championship title

The 2024 Qatar Karting Championship came to an exciting end with young Qatar driver Omar Aswat emerging as the winner. Despite missing out on a podium spot in the final race, Aswat’s consistent performance throughout the season earned him a total of 74 points, securing him the championship title. Aswat claimed victories in the second and fourth rounds, which helped propel him to the top of the standings.

Karim Rizkallah also made a significant impact in the final round by securing a win, earning him the overall runner-up position with 58 points. Tameem Hassiba finished third in the Championship standings with 56 points after a setback in the final round where he finished seventh. Thomas Estevez came fourth, while Faesal Alyafei completed the top five in the final standings.

In the grand final of the championship, Rizkallah impressed with a remarkable win, finishing with a total time of 14:22.221. He led the race by a significant margin of 27.788 seconds, clocking the best lap of 1:11.072, and averaging a speed of 53.711 km/h in the 12-lap contest. Yousuf Al Sulaiti secured second place, while Estevez finished third, jumping to fourth place in the Championship standings, followed by Mohammed Al Thani and Gabriel Albadawi in the top five.

Earlier in Group 1, Felice Carena clinched the top spot, with Nimr Al Qahtani and Victor Litaudon coming in second and third, respectively. The top 10 standings of the 2024 Qatar Karting Championship include Omar Aswat in first place, followed by Karim Rizkallah, Tameem Hassiba, Thomas Estevez, Faesal Alyafei, Bader Al Sulaiti, Victor Litaudon, Taha Hassiba, Hassan Ahmed Hussein, and Gabriel Albadawi.

Overall, the final round of the 2024 Qatar Karting Championship saw intense competition and impressive performances from the top drivers. Omar Aswat’s consistency and strong performances throughout the season ultimately led him to victory, while other drivers like Karim Rizkallah and Tameem Hassiba also showcased their skills and determination.
